Surviving SNOT Members Ask Radio Stations To Pay Tribute To Late Frontman
July 24, 2002The surviving members of SNOT are asking rock radio stations across the country to pay tribute to its late frontman, Lynn Strait, by playing the group's new live album, Snot Alive!, in its entirety to mark the singer's birthday next month, according to Launch.
Strait died in a car accident in 1998, putting an end to a career that generated considerable promise but only one studio album, the 1997 Geffen Records release Get Some. He would have turned 33 on August 7th.
Former SNOT guitarist Mikey Doling (currently in SOULFLY) says: "I'm looking for radio stations, maybe August 7th, to play the show in its entirety for Lynn's birthday. I was kinda rallying for that, so maybe out there if the kids want to call the stations and try to make that happen, that'd be awesome, you know? It's less than an hour, just put it in and stop the commercials and let it rock."
Snot Alive! captures the band on stage in Los Angeles in May of 1998, seven months before Strait's death. It arrives via Universal Records' Hip-O label on July 30th.
